Venkys Out?

Over the course of the last ten months I have met a great deal of Rovers fans. Some I have made very good friends with. Some not so much. This blog has allowed me the freedom to put across what I think on a regular basis. I recently disclosed some of my feelings towards what is going on. Some have been very favourable and some not so much. It’s all down to how I am perceived amongst my peers. Over the last few days I have noticed the tide slightly changing towards wanting Venkys out of Rovers. I am absolutely … Continue reading

Biting Bullets

I don’t tend to write after a game because I always fear that it will become too emotional and not really balanced and fair when I reflect on the game. However today I feel that by writing, I will release the ill feeling I’ve been feeling since around 16.45 this afternoon. Today’s game against City had many fans nervous and on edge before the game. Myself included in that equation. Afterwards after watching Rovers fall to pieces in the second half, I felt and still feel numb. Our team simply didn’t turn up in the second half. We almost looked … Continue reading

Time to Be Heroes Once Again

I must confess I’m not particularly looking forward to the game against City for a variety of reasons. Up until a few seasons ago, they were a very average side, struggling to maintain a safe position in the higher reaches of the Premier League. We even beat them resoundingly a few times along the way. It seemed that there was only one club in Manchester… Our rivals to the league in the early to mid ninties. That’s right of course I’m talking about Manchester United Then the takeover happened and changed the football landscape in Manchester.. It took a while … Continue reading

Sad Times

I feel now is a perfect opportunity to say what I’ve wanted to for quite a while. I am twenty five years old and have been a Rovers fan for about 19 years. In that time I have seen many highs and many lows. But one thing that has made me proud to be a Rovers fans over these years is the togetherness of the fans and the passion that has been conveyed. When things are good, we embrace each other. When things are bad we comfort each other. At least that’s what I thought… The present situation is causing … Continue reading

Communication

Today, I have been on a course with work which centred around an issue that has been part of Blackburn Rovers ever since they were taken over back in November last year. That’s right, I’m talking about; communication. Communication has been sadly lacking since Venkys took over last year. That being said it has been slowly improving over the last couple of weeks which can only serve us good in the future. Now, onto today and we talked / discussed about Transactional Analysis. Now unless your a psychologist or just brainy, I don’t expect you to understand what that is. … Continue reading

Well Well Well…

Well, after a turbulent week in the history of Blackburn Rovers. I have to say I’ve been caught up in the midst of it all… First things first, I’m very proud of Rovers beating Arsenal on Saturday. We played very very well in the second half. One player particularly impressed me and that was Jason Lowe. He started the game in midfield but when Salgado went off, he slotted in at right back and looked more than accomplished. Very happy because the right back position has been a bit of a concern recently, after Brett Emerton’s departure earlier this month. … Continue reading

Heroes

“We Can Be Heroes – Just For One Day” In the words of Bowie, yes indeed we can be heroes just for one day. The march can go without a murmer of trouble and Rovers will win comfortably against Arsenal tomorrow afternoon. And then order can be restored. We all look up to our favourite football team as heroes, idols in some cases and even legends in other cases. But it’s us that are the heroes. Some go every two weeks to watch our beloved Rovers, some go everywhere to see them play. We are the ones who feel every … Continue reading

Countdown to Oblivion?

Let me make this abundantly clear, I do not disagree with the protest march’s reasoning.  I want Steve Kean removed from the position as manager of Rovers as much as the next person.  I am sick of the positivity week in week out after abject performances. I am sick of him smiling like everything is okay. I respect him for getting on with it. But let’s face it Steve Kean is not a manager.  He is a coach. He does not have the man management skills to guide a Premier League team to success. Success that is measured on the … Continue reading

Time to take the Rose tinted specs off!

As I contemplate how to write this very uneasy blog post, I figure there is not an easy way to say it other than just bite the bullet and say it. I called for more patience on Friday, however after this weekend I have taken off what can only be described as “Rose tinted glasses…” read into that what you will. Ever since Steve Kean’s appointment at Rovers I had been one of the few open minded fans willing to give him a go. I was bewildered when Sam was sacked but was looking forward to the new era at … Continue reading

A Little Patience … Please

So, the Premier League is back this weekend. Rovers are away to Fulham on Sunday. What do I expect, what do I want? Well I expect a strong lineup along the lines of; Robinson Salgado Dann Samba Olsson Petrovic N Zonzi Hoilett Formica Vukcevic Goodwillie I mentioned in my previous post about Steve Kean’s lineup against Everton was bizarre. He doesn’t seem to have the tactical nous to be able to go on and win games. As much as I admire Jason Roberts as a person; I don’t think he is what we need on the pitch at the start. … Continue reading
