I tried to do an “About Me” page earlier this month, without much success. I actually hate talking about myself whether on or offline.
So here is take two…
My name is James John Fallon, I was born on the seventh day of the eighth month of the year of our lord nineteen eighty six. Why did I bother saying that? Perhaps somewhere inside me, there is that bit of belief that there something to believe in.
So yes I’m 25 years young (or old) depending on which way you look at it. I am not a conventional 25 year old guy by any means. I don’t drink, don’t smoke, (straight edge I think the term is…) I have a younger brother named Christopher (he likes to be called Chris) but he will always be Christopher to me! He is almost 21. I have a fantastic girlfriend of 8 years named Stacy. She is wonderful and I couldnt imagine my life without her.
I work for a major high street bank in a back office. I have worked there since April 2007. Before then I worked for another bank… I hated it there and was released from my contract. Which was a blessing in disguise even though at the time it didn’t feel like it! I am looking into new opportunities and one very well may be coming my way early next year or so one is hoping.
I absolutely love Rovers, I have supported them since I was a young child although my interest wavered quite a lot during school due to not being too popular amongst my peers. But my younger brother managed to get my enthusiasm back. My first game was in January 1995 when we played West Ham at Ewood. We beat them 4-2 with a Shearer hat-trick. Shearer actually whacked the ball in my face in the pre match warm up! He didnt say sorry but I guess the hat trick made up for it!
I have 2 other teams I follow, obviously not as much as Rovers but they are FC Porto and Bury. I developed my interest in FC Porto by playing on FIFA (sad, yes I know…) and Bury because of my friend at work and it’s the closest team to where I live!)
Another sport I love is rugby league. I developed this taste from my Grandad and even though I don’t follow it as much as football, I always watch out for the results and watch the odd game.
I have two other passions in life. Those are music and genealogy.
I must have the broadest musical taste ever because I love the following;
Rock, Punk, Metal, Dubstep, Ska, Rap, Classical, Blues, Jazz. Doo Wop. My entire collection on my phone is 5300+ songs! Theres something for everyone on there. I have to say that although I like all different kinds of music, the stand out artist has to be Frank Zappa. He had the courage to be different and fight against his and other lyrics being censored. So much for free speech hey?
What’s genealogy? Well in essence its family history but genealogy covers a lot more than just your family, it also covers the social changes/history over the centuries. It is my goal that one day I will be made a “fellow” of Genealogy but getting there wont be easy nor cheap.
